President & Publisher
With over 25 years of experience in the advertising, sales and PR industries, Marisa’s background and growth prepared her to become the successful custom publishing and media president she is today. At The Miami Herald, she held the position of National Advertising Director/Consumer Magazine Manager, overseeing sales and advertising into individual publications. Here she learned how to make unique connections between clients’ marketing goals and her publications’ target markets in order to develop successful marketing campaigns for both entities. Her experience also includes other senior management positions as Publisher and Editorial Director for Worth International Media Group and National Advertising Director for Modern Luxury, Publisher of Modern Luxury Brides South Florida, as well as Regional Director for American Airlines Publishing. She also held the position of Vice President of Publishing at Ink, where she oversaw all specialty media products, including American Airlines media and publications. She most recently served as President and Publisher of HCP Media, a division of the Miami Herald Media Company which developed and produced over 90 custom publications for hotels, airlines and other clients. These included multilingual destination guides, in-room hotel books, in-flight magazines, travel videos and websites, as well as accompanying sales, marketing and promotional programs. The company also produced commemorative coffee-table books, health care publications, program guides and other customized publications. Today, as the founding President and Publisher of Havas House, Marisa is carving a path for a new custom publishing and media company, setting forth its founding principles and developing a new standard of excellence for publishing and media companies around the world.
Desirée is an award-winning communications, branding and content director with more than 12 years experience. She is responsible for crafting creative strategies when bidding on new RFPs, including concepting editorial structure, content, media outlet and more. She provides clients with fully developed editorial programs from overall idea to content strategy and production, while overseeing highly sought-after writers and photographers located around the world. She is also key in drafting communications materials on behalf of Havas House, ensuring company messaging is consistent across various media platforms and client touch points.
Before Havas House, she was Editorial Director for HCP Media, working directly with current and potential clients, analyzing their marketing and branding needs, and developing creative strategies to fulfill those needs. Her work garnered several industry awards from the Florida Magazine Association, Content Marketing Awards, The Communicator Awards, McClatchy’s President Awards and more.
Previously, Desirée developed her skills as copywriter at ad agencies and within the Interval International marketing department. She then worked her way from Associate Editor to Senior Editor to Editorial Director at HCP Media in 4 short years.
Born in Miami, Fl, she earned a joint Master’s Degree in Mass Communication with a focus in Creative Advertising and Copywriting from Florida International University and the Miami Ad School.
Carlos is a seasoned graphic designer with a solid track record for organizing and leading publishing departments at prestigious editorial companies. Over the course of his career, he has been recognized for innovation, dependability, communication skills and creative performance.
As a senior creative professional with over 25 years of publishing experience, Carlos has worked as Art Director of the Spanish edition of Newsweek, Prevention, Vogue, and various publications of Televisa Group and the Miami Herald Media Co. In addition, for the past 14 years, he worked for HCP Media where he art directed important projects for clients, such as Los Cabos Tourism Board, Kiawah Resorts, Curacao Hospitality & Tourism Association, Marriott Hotels International, American Eagle Airlines, Cayman Airways, Volaris Airways, and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, amongst others.
He has garnered accolades and multiple awards, including two President’s Awards for McClatchy’s best book of the year.
Born in Cuba, he received his Bachelors (Licenciado) in Art History from the University of Havana, Cuba in 1985.
Senior Director, Sales
Ewald’s more than 20 years of experience in the sales industry has included notable publications and publishing houses, where his positions varied from sales representative to Publisher. At Havas House, he is responsible for renewing the existing advertisers database as well as bringing in new business in order to reach each publication/digital advertising goals. He is able to develop unique sales strategies due to his thorough knowledge of client industries and local markets in the regions he manages.
With solid expertise in business operations, Giovanna Sanchez has a successful track record creating and launching operation strategies for domestic and international companies throughout the Americas. As Plexchem’s sales operation director, Sanchez was responsible for managing the regional offices and the key client accounts. In 1990, Sanchez brought to HCP/Aboard Publishing her deep knowledge of the Latin American market as well as her operations knowledge.
Her 25-year experience in the publishing industry has allowed her to gain strong analytical skills, survey the competition and profit from the industry’s comprehensive changes. She has vast experience in print production and distribution, cost analysis, forecast planning, spearheading advertising initiatives, managing cross-functional teams and overseeing multi-million dollar budgets have effectively resulted in revenue growth for the corporations she has worked. Sanchez excels at building and expanding the customer base through interpersonal relationships and segmentation planning.
Sanchez received a B.S. in Business Administration from Lima University in 1989 and A.D in Foreign Trade.
Social Media & Communications, Manager
Ingrid began her career in 2000 with a passion for strategic thinking, creative communication and content marketing. She has worked on developing impactful sales proposals, social media campaigns, branding and media outreach to maximize organizational goals. Today, she continues the marketing efforts of all of Havas House products, including social media, brand management, corporate communications and special projects.
Erasmin Lokpez Cobo
Eirasmin is a Brand Strategist and Consumer Insights expert with seventeen years of experience building brand equity in marketing and advertising agencies in the U.S. and in Latin America. She holds a Master’s degree in Digital Marketing and Marketing Analytics and a Master’s degree in Strategic Communications.
She has a proven record developing insight-driven brand strategies that have led to effective and innovative omnichannel campaigns for Fortune 500 and industry-leading brands – such as Walmart, AirWick, White Claw, Volkswagen, SONY, Bank of America, Kraft, DHL, Hewlett-Packard, and MasterCard.
Eirasmin has dedicated the last ten years of her career to making an impact on the healthcare and wellness industry by designing and implementing culturally-relevant brand strategies for multicultural populations. Her Client roster includes pharma brands, such as Prolia and Dupixent, and healthcare and wellness organizations, such as the American Heart Association, Memorial Hermann Hospital, and Baptist Hospital.
She is an ICF Certified Professional Health & Wellness Coach, a Board Member at the National Wellness Institute, and the Founder & Director of the Wellness for Growth Foundation, an organization that empowers underprivileged Hispanic families through integral wellness education.
Eirasmin is also a Brand Management Adjunct Professor at FIU’s Master in Marketing Program. She is passionate about teaching and mentoring the younger generations of marketers.
Associate Director, Media
Karen brings 9+ years of agency experience in digital media and analytics. With a passion for storytelling through data, she is dedicated to exceeding client objectives through actionable insights and optimizations.
Karen joined Republica Havas from Worldmedia Interactive where she held the position of Client Partner Manager and led the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line business. She previously worked for Zubi, Initiative and Universal McCann, where she worked on an array of industry verticals and major brands such as Sony Electronics, Walgreens, Chase, and Dunkin' Donuts. At Republica Havas, Karen leads day-to-day channel strategy and analytics on clients such as Amgen, National Pork Board, and Santa Margherita Wines, to name a few.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and French, Karen is a graduate of University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising & Public Relations with a minor in Psychology.
As Studio Director, Christine Jacobus leads a team of Graphic Designers responsible for maintaining brand consistency and overall quality of work exiting the agency. For her team she developed a prepress and quality check process, put in place to ensure all print production work exiting the agency is a success. Through educational tutorials, Christine works with Adobe to promote the training and advancement of the creative team. She has an extensive background in design and print production working in the industry for 25+ years.
Before joining the Havas family, Christine began her career at Dreyer Studio working on projects for the Miami City Ballet. She quickly moved on to work for Cosmyk Images where she worked for 10+ years. Later as the company grew she served as production manager while solving IT issues for the agency. During her career she created designed and prepared files for print for clients like Miami City Ballet, Aspen Pet Products, On Gossamer, Miami Open Tennis Tournament, Homestead Miami Speedway, Miami Dolphins, Azamara, Barbados Tourism Authority, Black & Decker, Terra Group, Related Group, Google, NBCUniversal, Total Bank, BankUnited, Baptist Health South Florida, National Pork Board, Sedano’s, Walmart, Goya, Toyota, Segura Viudas, Chivas, Absolut Vodka, Jameson, Santa Margherita, White Claw, DVM Pharmaceuticals, Sanofi, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Biogen.
A native of Florida, Christine holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art in Graphic Design from the University of Florida.
